Many studies reported data for multiple nontarget groups or stages, sampling dates, sampling methods, and/or control treatments (e.g. treated with different insecticides). Although the query interface is deliberately designed to promote downloading of data in meaningful batches (e.g., users may elect to return only those records comparing Bt crops to a non-transgenic control), anyone planning to use the data from this database is strongly cautioned to consider issues of non-independence of the data prior to conducting analyses.

There also may be errors in the database - if you find any, please alert us by emailing mmarvier@scu.edu so we can fix them. We strongly recommend that anyone interested in using the database take the time to read the source documents to become familiar with exactly what the researchers did and how we have interpreted their work.
